BEST Aviation is located at the Bakersfield Municipal Airport (L45) in Southeast Bakersfield.
The FAA MedXPress system allows anyone requiring an FAA Medical Clearance or Medical Certificate to electronically complete the FAA Form 8500-8. Information entered into MedXPress will be available for your FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) to review at the time of your medical examination.
All candidates must use the TSA Online Portal to apply for a TSA Security Threat Assessment and pay the fee. Upon successful completion of the STA, you will be issued a Determination of Eligibility, which will allow you to train. Click on Register Options to start the process.

TSA Requirements
For US Citizens, you must bring a Birth Certificate & Driver’s License or
a Passport to your first lesson.
If you are a non-US Citizen, you are required by law to have prior authorization from the Transportation Security Administration before any flight training can begin.
Medical Certificate
Students are required to obtain a medical certificate to become a private pilot. We recommend that you get your medical before you begin training.
